Chilly Chicken

Beautiful sunset for my last night

Chilly chicken number 1 was up on her own for most of the day today. With a sick Ellie and a tired AJ, I made the most of my last day (and first day on new skis!).

Testing the new skis out on my favourite run

Today was unfortunately horrifically cold, with -13 at the base and -16 at the top. Lots of cafe visits to warm up the frozen fingers required.

Strangely this also meant that the snow wasn’t in super great condition, with some warmer temps over the last few days and some snow last night, it was very dust on crust vibes off-piste today. The groomers were however skiing fantastically in the morning.

New skis looking fab!

The new skis are Volkl M6 Mantra - around 96 underfoot and exactly what I was after for an all mountain ski - stiff, heavy and hold an edge nicely for ripping down the steep stuff, very excited! Although it has meant that I have to borrow Ellies ski bag to drag two skis home (eek!).

AJ making a brief appearance and practicing her athletic stance!

Powder mutton in the making

Overall a fantastic time crashing AJs ski getaway for a week and a bit, i’ve spent the better part of the time trying to convince her to buy something so it can become a tradition! Very lucky to have other amigos that love skiing in the family.

Until next time - GWH
