Shenzhen
Shenzhen or as the family affectionately call it - The Shenz was our destination today. We were loaded down with requests from whanau wanting everything from jackets, to dresse’s suitable for the bro’s wedding in the New Year. The Shenz has a population of 17 million and is located about a 45 -50min train ride from Kennedy Town. It is however located in mainland China so does require you to go thru immigration and customs. A visa is no longer required for NZ folks so this does speed everything up.
Many floors of goodies from watches to fabric.
We did however have some spectuluar shopping drama when two large storage racks holding fabric tipped over pinning and squeezing Grace between them. Much yelling ensued with us all trying to lift the shelves off her. Bloke power was required to do this as they were frickn heavy. We then quickly decided a trip to A&E was required to check that no ribs were broken. This required us to get thru immigration to find a hospital in HK and get their ASAP. After 3hrs in A&E and an Xray all is well with only minor bruising and some pain. All this made for a very eventful day and the burning question is will Grace be too traumatised to return to the Shenz. (sorry homies no photos of Grace stuck under the shelf as we were to busy trying to get her out)
Waiting to put our sewing order in before the shelf incident.
We are like mall rats
A great start to the day with delicious french toast & a great flat white.
