Spring chop or slop

As I’m a glass 1/2 full kinda gal todays snow conditions could be described as chop. But in the real world conditions could best be described soft slop. Not everywhere of course but certainly on the lower 1/2 of the hill.

9am queue for the Movenpick

Car Park Temp: +12C homies that’s toasty warm in anyones book.

Car Park was full shortly after 9am so when the lifts opened at 9 the queue that was massive soon disapated as all the lifts opened right on time.

Challenging snow @ the top of Clarrys

My spring kit came out today with a thin jacket and hardly a merino layer in sight. The possum jumper was even taken off mid morning. I was still sweating upon returning to the car after my last run this morning. Upon reflection it may have been due to the fact that skiing in slop requires significant amounts of energy, nervous or otherwise.

Roasted in this spring kit today

The snow released REALLY early today around 10.30 on the lower 1/2 and an hr or two later for the top 1/2.

The HNE opened at 9 today. This took some of the traffic off Boneyard and the Giant Lift. With such soft snow conditions these runs got cut up pretty quickly.

Run of the Day: Vertigo

This is the last blog for a week or so while I head home to other duties. Rain and snow are forecast for early next week which is the start of the school holidays here in NZ.
