Warming Up
Things sure have been getting warmer this last week. Today it was warmer at the base of Turoa than it was in Ohakune when I left. +5C @ the base and +4C in Ohakune. We have had consistent warm, sunny weather for the last week and the skiing has been amazing.
Dr No 1 clocked up his 8th day in a row today. He does however ski weekends where as his good wife and myself won’t.
Today provided some great skiing. With the car park only 1/2 to 3/4 full lots of people must have headed home yesterday so the crowd that decended on the Mountain on Friday was gone. We skied straight on to every lift and turned where we wanted. You hardly had to look up and around before skiing off .
Looking down Home Run to the car park
Some runs are starting to look a little rocky and thin in places with all the warm weather. This is particuarly apparent on the last 1/3 of Home Run.
Grooving that Kitty Sticker
Ski BFF is going great guns on her new C6s and is really getting her ski mojo on. The Hello Kitty stickers are proving to be very handy finding her skis on the rack, and hence her where about’s in the Giant Cafe.
Run of the Day: Big Bowl :Fun choppy snow and hardly an icy patch to be seen.
Celebrating 38 yrs of married life today. These two had there honeymoon @ Turoa and stayed at the camp ground in a caravan. No tropical island for these 2 ski bunnies.
