Black Jacks Flat
Down those stairs to the RHS is our home for 4 weeks.
This year I am staying at Black Jacks Flat which is on the next road North from last years house. It is a basement flat underneath the owners flat. Luckly theres lots of windows and plenty of natural light. It’s pretty small with one bedroom + a fold out couch in the Lounge. That’s what Loza will be sleeping on when she gets here. The shower is tiny but I must say the water pressure is better than G/Mas trickle shower set up. There are some steep steps to navigate up and down so I wouldn’t want to slip on the ice. The flat also happens to be next to the boiler room so is a little noisy during the night. Ear plugs may be required I fear.
This will convert into a bed for Loza. Ajs bed behind and steps up to the owners house and garage.
Tricky to get down with a long ski bag
Today was all about getting organised with the locker, ski pass, getting groceries and new wiper blades in Trail plus sorting out my bank card. So I only did a few runs today and the snow skied liked whipped cream. Yum Everyone is talking about how little snow there was just last week and even now with the top up so many small trees and woody brushes are poking thru the snowpack. A lot of runs are still closed due to the lack of snow. They had a few cm’s overnight but it has been snowing all day so must have had 10cm by now. But all systems are go for tomorrow. My skis will be freshly waxed and hopefully after a quiet nights sleep thunderbirds will be go.
