Busy Day on the Hill

With over 25cm of snow falling in the week since we have been here current conditions are wonderful. I believe this had something to do with the large crowd that turned out today to ski HBM. It was the busiest I have seen it.

Every chair on the skyline chairlift was full and I reckon this maybe is what caused the lift to break down. Our 1st run down to the lift went well with the lift return only making squeaky noises. But on our second ride the lift did sound sick and was very slow, it took over 20min to get to the top. Alice and I were like oh no we don’t want to be stuck here. Sure enough when we got to the top the dude up there said they were closing the lift. So our only option was the T bar - it was like soup up there with very little snow definition. Soft wet snow started to fall so we called it quits. Alice had a flight out this afternoon and we only had 1/2 a day planned anyway. The Mountain also very generously gave raincheck day passes to those who missed out on today’s skiing. One cant but help wonder how fab a high speed quad would be to replace the Skyline Chair.

I am currently alone in Smithers and it sure is very quite without any bros here!
