Forgot My Knitting

What a day to forget my knitting as I spent a considerable amount of time sitting in the car waiting for the Movenpick to open.

Yet another hot water bottle cover under construction.

We hit the hill early arriving around 9.30am once again that Platinumn Parking Pass is a gods send. Front row parking is def a bonus you can sleep in make lunch etc, etc.

The only lift open 1st up was Parklane which gave access to Clarry’s Track. This provided some challenging conditions along with some lovely pushed up powder along the run edges on the bottom 1/2. Frozen softball sized chunks of snow on the corners of the run caught a few folks out.

A few snaps of just how much snow and ice is up on the hill currently.

Given it’s the school holidays here and this is the 1st decent ski day after the storm which dumped at least 50 cm of snow on Turoa, the car park was only 1/2 full mid day.

Today I managed 3 runs on Clarry’s before I chucked it in and headed to the car to wait for the Movenpick to open. PG clocked up at least 10.

The Movenpick opened around 1pm so we could access mid mountain and ski Boneyard. I do think that run should be renamed Graveyard given the number of skiers and boarders that bail out on that run especially early season when its narrow and only several metres wide. School holidays always loads the runs with people that can’t stop or turn. Luckly AJ and PG survived a another day on the hill with no snowroaches (boarders) yelled at and we didn’t get run over by newbies on sticks.
