Skiing with the Top Dog

This week I am in Marks group. Mark is the Owner/main man in Canadian Ski Quest.

He set up the programme 25 years ago to provide a programme for skiers to improve and refine their skiing technique. Marks qualifications include a CSIA Level 4 examiner and instructor CFCF Level 3 instructor and all round beautiful skier. We are indeed privileged to be in this group with Ronnie. With only the two fo us Mark is like whipping us up. So its faster, more angulation, pole planting, more movement and like ski, ski, ski. Maybe I’ll be like a rocket when Turoa opens.

Temp: Mild +2C at the base and +3C at the top. The warm weather continues.

Snow: Mixed with good conditions up top. Skiing nice and firm with spring like tendancies. Lower down was heavy slush and very soft spring like conditions. With the worst snow for 27yrs according to coach we are trying to make the best of things.

Ronnie in action

Most runs on the lower 1/2 of the Mountain are showing signs of wear and the warm temps/rain that has occured. Think skiing at Turoa after rain here folks. Forecasts are showing snow this weekend with cooler temps across BC. Most ski areas will be hanging out for some new snow. Speaking of new Ronnie who is in my group was sporting a new pair of skis today as was MrAJ who treated himself to some new skis and poles.
