The Snow has Arrived

6 cm overnight hit the upper mountain with a little less at the bottom. Wind drift also affected the snow pack and lots of rocks, gravel and small shrubs got covered by this latest snow fall.

Only 1 Kiwi skiing with the group today - AJ. Everyone else is an Aussie

Temps: -4 C at the top but around 0 at the base. This meant that the snow that fell down at the base melted and the car park was still a slush fest.

It certainly felt like winter once again instead of that warm spring like vibe.

After yesterdays challenging skiing we had a delightful morning skiing groomers covered in a lovely layer of fluff. The trees were also pretty decent I believe. Maybe tomorrow I will pluck up and delve into them. We usually spend Sunday morning skiing as a group of Canadian Ski Quest participants. Today around 18 of us skied together.

Trying to get a matching Red sticker for my RH ski but none in stock ATM. More coming next week so hope they arrive before I leave.

Skiing in fresh snow with a dusting of snow on the trees is truly magical.

Tad and his wife Chantelle came for dinner in our little flat last night and were treated to AJ’s chicken pie and of course mashed potatoes Wilcox style. Brining a little NZ cooking to Rossland. It is very special that we can meet locals and hang out.
