Busy few days
Apologies blog readers I have been absent for a few days but am back on track now.
Thursday was spent skiing on very tired legs and with the snow pack becoming progressively thinner, and a big social evening planned time skipped away on me and no blog was posted. Sorry Homies.
Friday - yesterday for NZ readers was spent driving up to the Ainsworth Hot Pools for a dip and then checking out the sights of Nelson BC. Ainsworth Hot Springs are about an hour and a half from Rossland heading north up the Kootenany River and lake.
Lovely summer photo. The springs have been used for generations by the First Nations people in the area for healing.
The Kootenany Lake is massive and puts teeny tiny Lake Taupo to shame. Lots of summer houses dot the shore line and it would be heaving in the summer I imagine.
The stop in Nelson BC involved visiting a local brewery - I would have preferred a ski shop stop but the local brew was surprisingly pleasant and I possibly don’t need any more ski gear.
Great summer brew I would imagine.
Today we hit the hill for the grand sum of 2 runs. While not currently raining the snow on the lower 1/2 of the hill is reminicent of Turoa 2 seasons ago when I only skied the grand total of THREE days because of rocks, slush, etc, etc. Unfortunately this year is Red’s turn for a horrid season. Some hills in Vancouver have closed temporarily until more snow arrives. Fingers crossed for this coming week readers, when temps fall and snow arrives. Top Dog coach rates this season here at Red as a 3 out of 10 for snow with 2 being closed and not open. Worst season ever here maybe ???
Look at that nasty car park trudge. Yip that’s Brent.
