Umbrella etiquette
Today is was raining all day which meant we had to get the umbrellas out for our trek into central HK. This of course caused thousands of other HK resident’s to do the same. So much umbrella consideration had to be undertaken to avoid poking eyes out or dripping rain down someone’s back. Here are the unwritten rules on etiquette - When passing someone who's also using an umbrella, tilt the umbrella slightly away from the approaching person. If the person's smaller or you're tall, hold the umbrella straight up with your arm extended to its full length. Not everyone of course conforms to these guidelines and it can be very annoying.
Even the dogs have rain jackets here. Possibly because wet dog smell would be overwhelming in a tiny house.
Much food was consumed today as with all the days since our arrival. The sisters will be lucky to get into their jeans to make the flight home.
As this is our last day here in HK but the blog will be back to cover the Aotea Garden Ramble on the weekend of 30th November. Winter travel will be undertaken between wedding’s one and two. When we will be heading back to Smithers for several weeks and whanau will be joining us for some of the time. As usual AJ will blogging and keeping family updated on what we are up to.
