Making friends with the locals!
Today was day 2 on Hudson Bay Mountain, day passes were a whopping 50% off due to family day and the struggle to find a decent coffee continued today (AJ is day 2 without a good coffee and showing signs of with-drawls).
We are driving a Toyata Rav4 on this leg of the trip and it is “quite a peppy little thing”. Has great heated seats and pretty nifty snow mode.
We were unsure of how many people to expect on the hill today as local goss informed us family day is usually the busiest day of the year. But ofc with a lack of snow this season we were lucky to have another day of exploring with very little crowds.
We have nick named Smithers as Sleepy town as it is very very quite in the mornings and seems to come to life at night??
Last couple runs of the day.
Today marks a special day as I met my fellow cousin the canadian alpine weasel. We traversed across the top of Alpenhorn together and he showed me his cluster of trees (DM AJ for the video).
Dark furry moss & and possibly some cone formation going on in the trees. And homemade chilly beans for lunch from the club house. Delish!
Pretty fab day with some thigh burning long runs, even on a rough season Hudson Bay is charming with a great range of terrain. With some fresh pow it would be unreal!
