Routine
It sure is nice skiing with trees everywhere
My days here have slipped into a routine of coffee, breakfast, then head up the hill. Luckly I have found a great cark park which is super handy to pop back to at lunch time and close to a very nice bathroom. If you are early enough it is rarely ever full (weekends sometimes). Panorama like Turoa have paid parking for there No1 park which is around $1,000 per season I believe. Hope punters got a discount when you couldn’t park there because of the FCIS World Juniors. So Turoa isn’t the only place with wanker parking Craig.
Today was a mild +3 when I arrived and with an overnight refreeze on the Mountain things skied like Turoa on a bad day. No turd polishing allowed here. I was going to head up to the top after my great run there yesterday but the girls on the lift said it was horrible hard pack ice so I changed my mind and headed over to ski in the Sunbowl area, where conditions were variable and challenging. With more people out and skiing today things got choppy and scrapped off pretty quickly. So we had hard pack, icy patches with pushed up snow, soft spring snow and chunky ice. The Champagne Express also had a queue to load this morning which is something I haven’t seen before. Its spring break next week for Alberta Schools so maybe lots of families are visiting. So my day on the hill was only 2 runs although one was 5.9km Warm weather is coming next week so that will be interesting.
