Skiing with the Mountain Hosts
Made it to the Top at last
Today I’d thought ski with the Mountain Hosts. They meet every day @ 10am + 1pm in front of the ticket lodge in the village - they are very easy to spot in their yellow jackets. There was quite a crowd of us eagerly waiting for the hosts. Obviously pretty popular here. It was indeed nice to ski with other folks. Interesting to note that some of the people skiing with the hosts do this on a regular basis, some even every couple of days while they are in Panorama. It certainly got me skiing faster if that’s possible, and I even made it up to the summit. As I am currently skiing by myself I have been reluctant to explore this area because I’d hate to get stuck or crash by myself.
Conditions were much a repeat of yesterday with great packed powder mid mountain, hard scrapped off areas at the bottom of the hill and hard pack other places. Upper Mountain had the best runs and the snow in the trees looked nice.
Temps: -5C warming to +3C when I left. With no new snow on the Mtn I feel like we are in a loop. A couple of cms of new snow in the forecast so fingers crossed.
