Tauranga Liftie

This dude hails from Tauranga home city of the PG & PJH. He’s a long way from home.

It’s amazing who you coming across travelling the globe.

The snow line is shrinking across the hill and currently sits around the bottom of the Skyline Chair. The trail to town is closed once again due to the snow in town turning to slush and then rapidly to grass. It’s been around 7C in town the last few days and around 0C on the hill. So it seems like we have had the best of the ski season to date.

Snow conditions on the hill are still great and narry a sloshy patch to be seen. I did manage to get the high viz lenses in for a time this morning before switching them out for low viz ones when the high cloud came across around lunch. The hill has been closed for 2 days and was open again today.

After 2 days off one would think the hill would be packed but less than 200 keen folks turned out today for some great snow in the trees and on the groomed runs.

47cm added to the base since I arrived 2 weeks ago
